DAY 01: Negombo
After arrival to Sri Lanka you will be greeted by Visit sri lanka Travel representative at Airport .
After the Warm Welcome proceed to Hotel and relax at the hotel .

DAY 02: Anuradhapura
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Anuradhapura. (5.5 hours). Evening visit Mihintale. Overnight stay at Hotel.

DAY 03: Anuradhapura
Breakfast at Hotel. Morning visit Anuradhapura.

Wanderers note: Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s sacred ancient city, surrounded by 3 great man-made lakes, is a treat for the Wanderers. Walk down history whilst you explore the city which at the height of its glory, ranked beside Nineveh and Babylon in its colossal proportions. The monumental dagobas, Jetavana Dagoba, Abayagiry Stupa and the Ruwwanveli Seya are amongst the greatest architectural feats of its age, and have been surpassed only in scale by the great pyramids of Khufru & Khafra at Gizah. The sacred Sri Maha Bodhi Tree (Peepal) is a sapling of the sacred Bo tree in India, in the shelter of which Prince Siddhartha Gauthama attained supreme enlightenment & became Buddha.

It was gifted to Sri Lanka by Emperor Asoka in the 3rd century BC and is the oldest recorded tree in the world (2,250 years).

DAY 04: Polonnaruwa / Kandy
Breakfast at Hotel.
Morning visit Polonnaruwa.

The second most ancient of Sri Lankas Kingdoms, today the city of Polonnaruwa remains one of the best planned archeological relic sites in the country. Its green environment, amazing ancient constructions (including a huge lake built in 1200A.D.), and its warm, friendly people make it an attractive city to visit.

Transfer from Polonnaruwa to Kandy. (4 hours)

En-route visit Dambulla caves temple. The city is home to one of Sri Lankas seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites; the richly painted cave temple complex, is the islands largest and best preserved. Though there are more than 80 documented caves in the area, the most significant are spread over 5 caves, which comprise of statues and paintings related to Lord Buddha and his life. The latest archeological site of Ibbankatuwa Prehistoric Burial Site, is also found in this great city, within 3 km of the cave temple.

Let the civilization which dates back to 2700 year tell its story.

DAY 05: Kandy / Airport
Breakfast at Hotel.

Visit Kandy. Locally referred to as Maha Nuwara, meaning The Great City, Kandy is the Hill Capital and one of the most scenic cities in the country. It is also home to one of the most revered places of the Buddhist community in Sri Lanka, and around the world. The sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha, is housed in the temple, known as the Dalada Maligawa. In one of Asias most celebrated festivals, The Esala (Kandy) Perahera (held in July/August), where the inner caskets housing the sacred tooth relic, is taken through the streets in a grand procession of dancers, drummers, torch bearers and over a hundred beautifully costumed elephants. Steeped in history and located at the foothills of the central highlands, the city was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988.
